With Cedarbrook Middle School Principal Marcy Hockfield heading into retirement after five years in the position, Jim Taylor, who spent the past six months as the interim principal at Wyncote Elementary, will be assuming the role of interim principal at Cedarbrook Middle School for the 2020-21 school year, effective Wednesday, July 1, 2020. The CBK Principal position will be posted again in the coming months.
“During these past six months, Mr. Taylor has impressed me with his leadership, communications, relatability and ability to keep his eye on the prize against a backdrop of challenges unlike we’ve ever seen,” said CSD Superintendent Dr. Wagner Marseille. “Building genuine, respectful relationships are the key to Mr. Taylor’s success in the classroom with the children, in the school with colleagues and across CSD with our families.”
After nearly two decades as an elementary-level public school teacher, including 15 in CSD elementary schools, Taylor recently acquired his Pennsylvania principal certification and completed his Master of Arts in educational leadership from
Arcadia. Mr. Taylor also earned a Master of Arts in education from La Salle University (2004).
“I look forward to continuing to build on the positive culture and climate Ms. Hockfield forged in her five years,” Taylor said.
