This past week, Cedarbrook students in Alissa Levinson’s Digital Media class utilized Canva, a graphic design platform allowing users to create social media graphics, presentations, posters and other visual content, to create coronavirus safety-themed social media posts.
After learning Canva’s basics the previous week, students were challenged to utilize its numerous design elements, such as templates, stock photos and backgrounds, lines, layers and transparency. Hashtags like “#stopthespread,” “#wearamask,” “#homemademasks” and “#maskselfie” and selfies were encouraged.
The final products were creative and varied, including infographics and checklists, animals wearing masks, gratitude for healthcare workers and social distancing tips. Once the projects were turned in, Levinson posted some of them to the CBK Facebook page.
