CHS/CBK SLP Arielle Brown Earns Award for Continuing Education
Congratulations to CHS and CBK speech language pathologist Arielle Brown who recently earned the first Award for Continuing Education (ACE) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s (ASHA) Continuing Education Board (CEB). Speech-language pathologists and audiologists meet the ACE requirements by earning seven ASHA continuing education credits, the equivalent to 70 contact hours in a 36-month period.
“I am excited to receive this award,” Brown said. “As a speech language pathologist, I enjoy what I do, and believe it is important to continue learning in an effort to better serve CSD’s students.”
Brown joins a select group of individuals who have made a concerted, personal effort to continue professional learning beyond an academic degree. ASHA encourages professionals to continue learning throughout their professional career and to maintain current knowledge and skills. To facilitate this, ASHA approves providers to offer relevant continuing education activities, and recognizes professional participation through the ACE.
ASHA is the national professional, scientific, and credentialing association for 218,000 members and affiliates who are audiologists; speech-language pathologists; speech, language, and hearing scientists; audiology and speech-language pathology support personnel; and students.
