#SeniorsOfCheltenham Share #CSDimpact Stories
Every school district has a story to tell — our school culture and community are uniquely ours. Throughout the 2018-19 school year, we’ve shared stories demonstrating the Cheltenham School District impact on students, staff, families and community. The #SeniorsOfCheltenham campaign provides an opportunity for a select group of seniors to share their #CSDimpact stories, personal narratives and plans for the future. CHS guidance counselors nominated Rebecca Banner, Bria Barnes, Jaylene Fermin, Justin Grady, Isaac Guth, Leila Harper, Jada Holland, Leslie Melecio, Natalie Pomerantz, Adam Turk Karan, Jason White, and Samuel Xu as the seniors who best represent the impact of a Cheltenham education through their dedication to scholarship, service, leadership and citizenship, as well as participation in school activities, clubs and athletics.
In early December, 2010 alumnus and professional photographer Terron Gay (instagram.com/rr_photography215) captured environmental portraits of these students on the grounds of the Elkins Estate (1750 Ashbourne Rd., Elkins Park), in addition to headshots for the students’ future professional pursuits. Students completed questionnaires exploring myriad topics, the answers to which will be unveiled through the rollout of the #SeniorsOfCheltenham campaign.
In addition to unrestricted use of the photos as a “thank you” for their time, students received gift cards and school store credit, a Cheltenham “swag bag” and, of course, all the bragging rights of being selected!
In the coming weeks, these students portraits and voices will be shared with you on Facebook and Instagram as a means to celebrate all that’s great about Cheltenham. We encourage you to like and share these images.
Special thanks to Elkins Estate caretaker Amy Ragsdale, Dominican Sisters of Saint Catherine de’Ricci and the CHS Counselors.
