CBK 8th Grader Takes First in Colgate Women’s Games 400-Meter Dash

Eyota Bey Congratulations to Cedarbrook eighth grader Eyota Bey who won the 400 meters in 1:00.12 in the Mid School division of the opening preliminaries at the 45th anniversary Colgate Women’s Games at Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute on Saturday, Dec. 15.

Every year, thousands of girls and young women compete in the games in grade divisions for ribbons, medals and points. Events include 55 meters, 55-meter hurdles, 200 meters, 400 Meters, 800 meters, 1500 meters, high jump and shot put. Previous track meet experience is not required and participation is completely free.

Four preliminary meets and a semifinal at Pratt will determine who will compete at the finals at the New Balance Track and Field Center at The Armory in New York City on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, where trophies and educational grants-in-aid from Colgate-Palmolive are awarded to top place finishers in each grade division.
