CHS Junior Rheva Wolf Wins Philadelphia Area Affiliate NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing
(March 15, 2023) Cheltenham High School junior Rheva Wolf has received the Regional Affiliate NCWIT Award for Aspiration in Computer Science (AiC) for the Philadelphia area. The award, powered by the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT), recognizes high school women, genderqueer, or non-binary students for their computing-related achievements and interests as part of an effort to encourage a diverse range of students to choose careers in technology.
Wolf has been invited to the Affiliate Aspirations Award Ceremony to be held at the Inn at Villanova on Thursday, April 20, 2023.
Students who receive a regional affiliate award have significantly demonstrated interest and aptitude for computing. Apple, Bank of America, Microsoft, and Motorola Solutions Foundation sponsor the NCWIT Award for AiC.
“I am honored to be able to be part of the NCWIT community and continue to further their goal of supporting and increasing the number of women in STEM,” said Wolf.
Regional Affiliate Award programs are hosted in 79 locations nationwide by NCWIT Alliance member organizations—a powerful, national network of universities, companies, non-profits, and government organizations working to increase the influence and meaningful participation of girls and women from every community.
NCWIT is the farthest-reaching network of change leaders focused on advancing innovation by correcting underrepresentation in computing. NCWIT convenes, equips, and unites nearly 1,500 change leader organizations nationwide to increase the influential and meaningful participation of girls and women — at the intersections of race/ethnicity, class, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, and other historically marginalized identities — in the field of computing, particularly in terms of innovation and development.
