bluestine senior photo(March 1, 2023) Senior Celia Bluestine and CHS Vocal Arts Director Maddie Parkes attended the American Choral Directors Association conference February 22-25 in Cincinnati, where Bluestine participated in a concert choir of 300 students from across the country. The concert included “Zadok the Priest” by G.F. Handel, “Set Me As a Seal” by Margaret Burk, and Carol Barnett’s “Cliff Notes.”

The highly competitive audition process to join the choir included 4,000 students from all around the country. Of those 4,000 entrants, only 300 were accepted into the ninth through 12th grade honor choir. At the conference, Bluestine worked with Dr. Eugene Rodgers, a world-renowned conductor and professor at University of Michigan.
