CHS Cybersecurity Team Competes in CyberPatriot Semifinals
(January 23, 2023) Scoring the highest of any Pennsylvania team, Cheltenham High School’s Cybersecurity Team competed in the CyberPatriot semifinals this weekend. Almost 950 teams competed in the semifinals, including 12 from Pennsylvania.
Faith L. ('23), Maddie J. ('23), Rheva W. ('24), and Henry B. ('24) competed on Ubuntu, Windows, and Server 2019 machines to defend from attackers. Malware included persistent ducks, Rick Rolls, backdoors, and access issues.
Cheltenham has competed in the CyberPatriot competition for three years, and this was the first year the team qualified for the semifinals. Thanks to Gannon University for sponsoring Cheltenham’s Cyber Team this year.
The competition intends to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to the nation's future.
