(January 17, 2023) At this weekend’s Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 11 festival at Council Rock South, seniors Celia Bluestine, Soprano 1, and Vaughn McCain, Tenor 2, finished in the top 10 of their sections to qualify for regionals. For their audition, the seniors performed two selections from among seven songs they would later perform in concert at the event. The concert included songs “Alleluia,” “Laudate Pueri,” “Angele Dei” and “I Will Sing,” among others.
Scheduled for Feb. 16-18 at West Chester University, the PMEA regional festival features the best singers from Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware, Bucks, and Montgomery Counties.
The PMEA District 11 comprises all levels of public, private, parochial, college and university, as well as retired music educators, administrators and music industry representatives from throughout Bucks and Montgomery Counties. The organization aims to advance the study of music education throughout the commonwealth and encourage excellence in the study and teaching of music. The association supports and promotes quality music education through statewide workshops, conferences, performances and festivals.
