NHS, Key Club Team Up for Service Event

students making goodie bags for people in need. (December 13, 2022) The NHS and Key Club hosted a combined service event on Wednesday, Dec. 7 after school in the cafeteria. Materials were supplied by the nonprofit called The Giving Tree, through which service projects are organized for schools to teach students about service.

Completed projects will go to area homeless shelters, veterans, and food pantries. These are the projects that students completed:

Little Lunch Bag: A Ziploc bag with a coloring label filled with healthy snacks, including a chicken/tuna salad pack, apple sauce, fig bar, granola bar and juice box for individuals in need of nourishment.

Breakfast All Day: This bag of nutritious snack items helps everyone start the day right. Breakfast All Day is a good go-to meal bag for a variety of individuals but these will go directly to veterans!

Morning Munchies Bag: This bag includes an oatmeal packet, apple sauce cup, granola bar and tea bag in a Ziploc bag. There is a label on front for the students to color. The gift is for homebound seniors, distributed to them through Meals on Wheels.

Brunch for You: A white gift bag for decorating filled with a variety of food items to fill little bellies when they aren't in school. This is delivered to local schools whose students need nourishment on days off.

Kindness Cup (3 per kit): Includes a granola bar, and package of both cookies and crackers in a 12 oz. white cup for decorating, wrapped in cello paper and tied with a ribbon. This project is delivered to food pantries and shelters.
