Rebecca Moser Scoops Up a Position at Sprinkles Ice Cream Shoppe Through Diversified Occupations Class

cohen, riech, moser, mckenna(September 16, 2022) The Diversified Occupations and Skills for Life classes at CHS have collaborated with Sprinkles Ice Cream Shoppe to secure senior Rebecca Moser a position with the Elkins Park establishment. Sprinkles kicked off the partnership Friday afternoon at the high school with an ice cream party for Moser and her classmates. She had her first shift at the shop earlier this week.

“Rebecca is doing such a great job in the store,” said Sprinkles Owner Emily Reich. “She came into her first day excited and ready to work. It’s been so amazing having her there to help out.”

For her first work experience, Moser will punch the clock three days a week from noon to 2 p.m. during the school day. She receives support from CHS staff who have helped prepare her for success in the position.

“Rebecca now has opportunities to make connections with students and the Cheltenham community from this experience,” said special education teacher Philip Cohen. “It’s really exciting to see.”

The Diversified Occupations class, run by cooperative education coordinator Brittney McKenna, allows students to secure real-world experience through paid positions and internships during their senior year.
