Superintendent, CHS Principal Host Meet and Greet Sessions for Community

D'Andrea heashot(August 15, 2022) This month, CSD Superintendent Dr. Brian Scriven and new CHS Principal Jimmy D’Andrea hosted four meet and greet sessions. To provide the opportunity to meet the CSD community, two of the meet and greets were held virtually, while others were held at the Lynnewood Community Center and the CHS Little Theater.

Held in an informal environment meant to spark conversation, the meet and greets were an opportunity for the community to learn about Dr. Scriven and Mr. D’Andrea. At each of the sessions, following Dr. Scriven’s introduction, D’Andrea spoke of the three pillars which he deems essential to building a successful school culture and community: equity, relationships and collaboration.

“In all of the sessions, it was very apparent that our students, staff, parents/guardians and community members are deeply invested in the success of Cheltenham High School and take great pride in the diversity of the school and township,” said D’Andrea.

Areas of focus families mentioned they’d like to see D’Andrea work on included establishing high expectations for students inside and outside the classroom; clearly and consistently communicating with students, staff, and parents/guardians; and ensuring that all students have access to the wealth of opportunities available at Cheltenham High School.

“As we prepare to start the school year, I am committed to fostering a culture where every student and staff member feels respected and valued, and where students develop the academic and social-emotional skills necessary to succeed in college and careers,” said D’Andrea.
