Panther Cager McGlone Makes Third-Team All-State

Jaelen McGlone Senior swingman Jaelen McGlone, a Rider University commit, has been named to the 6A all-state basketball third team in voting by Pennsylvania sportswriters. The 6-4 McGlone averaged 16.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists, while shooting 48 percent from the floor, 39 percent from beyond the arc and 78 percent from the free-throw line, and earned American Conference first team honors.

Point guard Glenn Fine in 1974 is the most recent CHS Panther to earn all-state honors.

“Jaelen was one of our catalysts this year,” said second-year head coach Patrick Fleury ’05. “He is an illustration of what a dedicated student-athlete can accomplish when they work hard and attack their passions and dreams with fervor.”

With win streaks of eight and nine games during the season, the Panthers finished 25-4 (tied for third best in school history), earned a spot in the District 1 title game for the first time since 2005, and advanced to the second round of the PIAA 6A state championship tournament before the season was canceled amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Panthers went undefeated in league (14-0) for the first time in more than 50 years, which included sweeping its two games versus rival Abington.
