CES Celebrates Black History Month

CE Celebrates Black History Month Cheltenham Elementary’s second grade students performed for the entire student body this past week and shared all the things they learned during Black History Month. With support from their amazing music teacher Michelle Przybylowski, students sang, danced and shared the wonderful contributions of African-Americans to American History.

The national theme for Black History Month 2020 was “African Americans and the Right to Vote.” Saidah Giraud’s kindergarten classroom shared what they learned about this topic with their families this past week. Families also provided a traditional “soul food” meal. Finally, the entire kindergarten class was treated to a special performance by R&B singer and founding member of the "Stylistics" Russell Thompkins, whose grandson Jordan is in Mrs. Giraud's class.
