On Friday, Sept. 27, Freshman Transition program students, along with members of the CHS Leadership and Mentoring program participated in team building events led by high school health and physical education teacher Dave Burton. Mentors and freshmen mentees shared experiences, built relationships and developed personal and academic goals, while having a great time! Thank you to the Cheltenham School District Foundation for funding this opportunity.
The Leadership and Mentoring program was developed to support students as they transition into high school. The goal of the program is for students to create partnerships with each other and the community through service learning and alumni networking. By providing students with peer mentors who have demonstrated success, students’ academic achievement, adult/peer relationships and social-emotional well being improve.
