Alumna Brissett Takes Silver at Pan Am Games in Lima
USC Trojans sprinter and 2017 CHS graduate (and former Wyncote Elementary student) Chanel Brissett had a successful run at this summer's Lima 2019 Pan American Games, earning a silver in the women's 100m hurdles (12.99) and a bronze as the lead-off leg of the USA’s 4x100m relay (43.49).
A sophomore, Brissett is in her second season as a hurdler and sprinter on the USC track and field team. She ranks fourth on USC's all-time 100m hurdles list with a time of 12.75, which she ran in winning the 2018 Pac-12 title. Her best time in the 100m is 11.66, while her 200m best is 23.84.
As a high schooler, Brissett re-wrote the school record books and was named to the USA Today All-USA Girls Track & Field second team.
