Elkins Park Sixth Graders Climb to the PEEC

PEEC Trip Attendees Two waves of Elkins Park School sixth graders and their chaperones and teachers each spent nearly three days this past week at the Poconos Environmental Education Center learning about the Great Outdoors through hikes, campfire songs and presenters, and classes on orienteering, camping, canoeing. They learned about themselves and their classmates through team-building exercises, confidence courses and communal living in cabins and eating in the cafeteria. A longtime Elkins Park tradition inaugurated more than 30 years ago by the now-retired Roberta Jacoby, PEEC looks to continue well into the future with Doug Johnson and Lynn Casey now at the helm.
