Griffin Earns Multiple Medals at Inaugural Philly High School Fencing Championship

Afwe Griffin Representing Cheltenham with her gold and blue socks, senior Afwe Griffin was one of two multiple medal winners at the recent inaugural Philly High School Fencing Championship.

The lone Cheltenham participant, Griffin earned silver in sabre and bronze in epee. Griffin’s efforts tied her for ninth place with Harriton and Shipley with eight points. Abington won the competition with 27 points, followed by Haverford (16) and Jenkintown and Germantown Friends (14).

Staged at Germantown Friends, the competition featured 28 teams from across the Delaware Valley, and was tabbed as the first of its kind in eastern Pennsylvania.
