Lee Sisters Advance to YMCA Gymnastics Nationals

Lee sisters advance to YMCA gymnastics nationals The Lee sisters, Addison, a sixth grader at Elkins Park, and Olivia, a third grader at Glenside, recently earned placewinner recognition at the Cotton Candy Classic, the Pennsylvania YMCA State Gymnastics competition, and will be competing at the YMCA Gymnastics National Championship in June. The sisters compete for the Hatboro YMCA in level 3.

With victories in the bars and floor exercise and third-place finishes in the vault and beam, Addison Lee scored 37.65 points to win the all-around in her flight. With top seven finishes in the vault, bars and floor routine, Olivia placed sixth in the all around in her flight with 34.95 points.

The girls began gymnastics about four years ago and took to it immediately. They started with tumbling and skills development before progressing to team/competitive level. They both count the floor and bar as their favorite events. The girls strength train a few times a week and maintain rigorous practice schedules. They are constantly tumbling on mats or anywhere they get a chance.

Nationals are Wednesday through Sunday, June 19 - 23 in Wisconsin Dells, Wisc., at the Woodside Wisconsin Dells Center Dome.
