On April 4, the Myers community celebrated its rich diversity at its annual Family Heritage Night, one of the school's most anticipated and long-standing traditions. Families from more than 15 ethnic/cultural backgrounds, including parts of the United States (including Puerto Rico), Guatemala, Serbia, Russia, China, Egypt, Ireland, Vietnam, Monland of Myanmar, Netherlands and Mexico shared delicious food and displayed items related to their heritage.
Myers students enjoyed passport quest, crafts, exploration of ethnic toys and musical instruments and a Chinese yo-yo sport presentation. More than 25 Myers families contributed desserts, snacks, treats, gourmet foods, beverages, artwork, activities and toys specific to their heritage to create colorful, delicious and exciting raffle baskets. Many participants and visitors wore traditional outfits, adding extra flair to the festive atmosphere of the event.
