Junior Selected for American Invitational Math Exam

Junior Christopher Luk The Mathematics Association of America (MAA) has selected junior Christopher Luk to participate in the American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME). Luk’s score on the American Mathematics Challenge (AMC) 12 exam in February qualified him to advance to this prestigious round of competition.

Students like Luk who perform exceptionally well on the AMC 12 are invited to continue participating in the AMC series of examinations that culminate with the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). The AIME is the first in this series, and is a 15-question, 3-hour examination, with each answer being an integer between 0 to 999. The questions on the AIME are much more difficult than those on the AMC 10 and AMC 12 competitions. Top scoring students on the AIME are invited to take the United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO) and the United States of America Junior Mathematical Olympiad (USAJMO).
