Marching Panthers Finish at “Cavalcade of Bands” Best in Five Years since Joining Open Class
Behind the direction of drum major Jessie Oswald, the Marching Panthers closed out their season by scoring 86.80 points to take ninth out of 13 in the tough American Open Division of the 59th annual Cavalcade of Bands Sunday at J. Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown, Pa. The finish is the Panthers best in their five years of competing in the Open Class. Color guard finished third overall.
Competing against 12 bands of similar size from across the state - Conestoga Valley, Haverford, Conrad Weiser, Chichester, West Chester East, Daniel Boone, East Pennsboro, Hatboro Horsham, Pittston Area, Whitehall, Pocono Mountain West and Sun Valley - the Panthers performed the "Faces of Fire" routine they’d been perfecting throughout the fall.
