Cheltenham Transportation Adds 40 Propane-Fueled Buses to Its Fleet
The Cheltenham School District Board of Directors and Administration continue their commitment to sustainability through the introduction of 40 72-passenger propane-fueled buses to the existing Cheltenham Transportation fleet. Propane-fueled school buses provide a number of environmental advantages, including cleaner-burning fuel and a reduction of hydrocarbons and emissions. The Propane Education and Research Council estimates emissions will be reduced by 11 percent by swapping a diesel school bus with a propane school bus. Propane-fueled school buses also offer long-term cost savings due to reduced fuel usage and maintenance costs. In addition to adding buses to its fleet, Cheltenham Transportation renovated its depot to accommodate the propane-filling station for the new fleet.
