(June 3, 2022) Donning gold stoles and navy caps and gowns, more than 350 students from Cheltenham High School crossed the dais to collect their diplomas at the school’s 138th commencement exercises on Thursday, June 2 at the CHS Football Field.
CSD School Board President Pamela Henry and Superintendent Dr. Brian Scriven each addressed the capacity audience. Senior class president Joelle Williams delivered the student address about compassion and passion. Williams was accepted at more than 20 schools, including six Ivy League Institutions, and was awarded the Patriot Equities Scholarship, Gates Scholarship, and Ron Brown Scholarship to support her attendance at Harvard University to study human developmental regenerative biology on a pre-med track. Seniors visited their former schools (elementaries, EP and CBK) as part of the traditional Senior Walk on Wednesday, June 1. The seniors toured the schools amid cheers and signs. Later on June 1, the high school hosted the annual Senior Awards Night, at which nearly 100 department, academic, service and co-curricular awards and a handful of scholarships from the Cheltenham School District Foundation and Alumni Association of Cheltenham High School were given.
