UPG’s Inaugural School Beautification and Block Party a Success

(May 24, 2022) Sponsored by the Cheltenham United Parents Group (UPG), the inaugural “Many Hands Make Light Work” school beautification and block party event drew more than 150 CSD community members. Activities included landscaping, mulching, flower planting, cleaning up, and, perhaps most importantly, connecting as members of the larger CSD community.

“We couldn't have done it without the support of the CSD Facilities team, CHS Environmental Club students and leads, our volunteer leads at each school site, and all of the community members who helped to plan,” said UPG co-President Lakisha Rodwell Green. “Thank you to all!”

The temperature kept rising through the afternoon but that didn't stop the more than 150 CSD students, parents/guardians, teachers and community members who came out to CHS for the afternoon block party! From the CHS color guard's performance to an alumni-led presentation on the Jonathan “Yoni” Netanyahu Memorial Grove at CHS, it was an afternoon filled with Cheltenham pride! A true community effort!
