Track and Field Student-Athletes Advance to States

boys and girls track team photo(May 24, 2022) The girls and boys track and field team qualified a number of student-athletes for states at this past weekend’s District 1 Championships at Coatesville.

Advancing to states for the girls, junior Eyota Bey won the 400M (55.68) and took second in the 200M (25.07); senior Donya Baxter took second in the shot put (39-11.75) and sixth in the discus (109-10); senior Laurha Herard finished eighth in the long jump (17-00); and junior Mariah Winfield wound up eighth in the 300M hurdles (47.58). The 4x100M relay team of Winfield, sophomore Kira Murray, Baxter and Bey won their event with a state-leading 47.83. 

The boys 4x100M relay of senior Joshua Eng, and juniors Josh Grady, Ke’Nai Massiah and Ke’Shaun Massiah won their event in a state-qualifying time of 42.28.
