CHS Select Choir Performs at Temple

choir performing at temple(March 28, 2022) On Saturday, March 26, the CHS Select Choir took part in “Carry Me Home: Music of Promise and Peace,” a remarkable choral concert at Temple University's Performing Arts Center. The CHS Select Choir and North Penn High School's Chamber Choir were invited to join Temple University’s Concert Choir to perform R. Nathaniel Dett’s masterful-yet-underperformed work “The Chariot Jubilee” under the direction of Oakwood University’s renowned Director of Choral Activities Dr. Jason Max Ferdinand. The day prior to the concert, the select choir received expert coaching from Dr. Ferdinand, learned from the work of other high school singers, and rehearsed “The Chariot Jubilee” with Dr. Ferdinand, soloist, and orchestra. At the Saturday concert, the select choir performed two pieces on their own before joining the full festival choir on Dett’s “The Chariot Jubilee.” You can watch the performance here. Cheltenham takes the stage at about the 17-minute mark.
