CHS Robotic Team Qualifies for FIRST Robotics Competition Finals

CHS robotics at the competition(March 23, 2022) Congratulations to the CHS Robotics team Simple Machines (FRC 423), which competed in the finals of the RAPID REACT game in the First Robotics Competition (FRC) at Springside/Chestnut Hill Academy this past Saturday and Sunday.
Team members include Quinn Durso, Samuel Holovachuk, Kian Kinchloe, Graham Larkin, Jonah Minkoff and River Somerville. Special thanks to mentors Charlie Affel, Peter Hagopian, Marc Kahn, Joshua Lynn, Gloria Weber and Ben Young.
In RAPID REACT, teams must use innovative engineering, creative thinking and teamwork to reimagine the future of safe, high-speed travel, and lightning-fast deliveries to propel the next evolution of transportation forward – in this world and beyond. The competition involved the team’s robot picking up giant tennis balls and shooting them into high and low goals and then climbing onto bars of varying heights.
Simple Machines, which built its robot with assistance from mentors from the industry within the Cheltenham community, partnered with teams from Palisades High School and Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in the finals.
