Lehigh University Professors Discuss Documentary "13th" with CHS English Classes
Cheltenham High School hosted two leading professors from Lehigh University on March 17th to discuss the documentary “13th”. The groundbreaking film explores the “intersection of race, justice, and mass incarceration.” Students enjoyed a Q&A with Dr. Peterson, a dedicated researcher on the American prison system, whose work connects with many topics brought about in the movie. They also heard from CHS graduate, Dr. El-Burki, who discussed media framing and its impact on perception and identity. Student attendees were intrigued by the professors, asking insightful and intelligent questions and sharing deep concern for the topic of unjust incarceration.
