Elkins Park School Holds Annual 6th Grade Science Fair
Cheltenham School District 6th grade students got excited about science on February 8th when they came together for their annual Science Fair. In its sixth cycle, this year’s fair saw 350 students presenting complex projects on poster boards to a full gymnasium of faculty and parents. Students worked diligently this past semester to perfect their presentations. Early on in the year they were instructed to create a hypothesis on a subject that interested them. They then utilized the scientific method, collected data, and worked to demonstrate findings. This year’s experiments ranged in topic from, “Does listening to music actually help you do homework better?” to “What liquids will freeze the fastest?
The fair is organized by Elkins Park teacher Linda Jephson and supported by the Elkins Park School science department.
