Cheltenham School District and Glenside Rotary Team up for 14th Year of Delivering Thanksgiving Baskets

Rotary Thanksgiving Dinners

For fourteen years in a row now, representatives from the Glenside Rotary and Cheltenham School District have partnered to ensure that the Thanksgiving holiday is filled with the traditional fixings for deserving families. Steve Vahey of the Rotary coordinates with Kathy Wasserman of Cheltenham School District to make it all happen.

Vahey, a longtime Rotarian facilitates the purchasing of turkeys and potatoes by the Glenside Rotary. Wasserman, the school district's Social Worker, works with five of the district's schools, Glenside Elementary, Wyncote Elementary, Myers Elementary, Cheltenham Elementary, and Elkins Park School, to run simultaneous canned/dry food drives. On Monday, November 21st Vahey and Wasserman teamed up with student volunteers from Arcadia university and Temple University to assemble 78 bountiful baskets, each designed to feed a family of six.

All baskets stayed local, being personally and lovingly distributed to families throughout Cheltenham Township with warm wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
