Elkins Park Students Get Geothermal Lesson and Preview The Future School
Over fifty sixth grade students got an up close real life lesson on geothermal energy when they visited the Cedarbrook Middle School Rebuild construction site on Friday, November 4th. This was a very special experience, since these students represent the first class that will learn in the newly rebuilt Cedarbrook.
Cheltenham School District Director of Facilities, Dr. Ray Bavi, facilitated. He discussed how a geothermal heat pump system works, touching upon its sustainable elements. He then led students to the far section of the geothermal site so that they could see how the students future school is shaping up. This marks Dr. Bavis' third geothermal student lesson as he hosted over 160 high school and middle school students last week to teach them about the geothermal process.
