Wyncote Elementary School Celebrates Local Heroes and The Wyncote Way

Wyncote Assembly Wyncote Elementary School's September Town Hall school meeting was a celebration of heroes and The Wyncote Way. The Town Hall assembly program began with Principal Crystal Clark reviewing the school's behavioral norms and expectations. It then led into a celebration of local first responders, coordinated by third-grade teacher Ms. Amy Flynn and her class. First, Ms. Flynn said a few words about the importance of keeping September 11th in our hearts and minds as a special day of remembrance. Then, Ms. Flynn invited the school's special guests, local volunteer firefighters, police officers and emergency medical technicians to accept thank you cards and a round of applause for their service. Next, boys and girls reviewed the No Place for Hate pledge, with many volunteering to help Principal Clark develop 2016-2017 No Place for Hate programs. Finally, Principal Clark led students in a "walk in their shoes" activity, that saw several students stepping on paper shoe prints to feel like what it must be like when another person is negatively affected by a situation. School Custodian, Mr. Chris Mallon, supported the activity, demonstrating that the Wyncote Way is for every member of the school community.
