(October 13, 2022) With financial assistance from its PTO, Wyncote Elementary now has a “Buddy Bench” on its kindergarten playground. The idea is simple: If a child feels lonely, they can go to the bench as a signal that they need someone to play with. Another child will see them and go talk to them and include them in their games. All kindergarteners, their teachers and paraeducators have had a lesson on the magic of the Buddy Bench.Thanks to counselor Tracy Keeley for leading the charge to have the bench funded and installed.
