(June 9, 2022) Myers Elementary has reached fidelity to Tier 1 Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) for the 2021-2022 school year. All four of the Cheltenham School District’s elementary schools accomplished this recognition.
“We are so proud of our students embracing being safe, respectful and responsible and the impact that has had on their academic growth,” said Principal Jason Lytle.
Reaching fidelity means based on the action steps put in place for this school year, Myers Elementary can expect positive outcomes from PBIS based upon the systems, data, and practices. Reaching the Tier 1 scale also qualifies MES for recognition from the PaPBS Network. MES will be entered into the state-level system to be recognized for Tier 1 Initial Recognition.
The Myers Elementary PBIS team has been invited to present at the 2022 PaPBS Implementers’ Forum, a statewide event taking place in November in Hershey, Pa.
Their presentation titled “On The Right Track: PBIS and the Peace Train” will cover how Myers has established a school-wide culture that encourages students to be safe, respectful, responsible and engaged.
