Illustrating for students that even the smallest, most local philanthropy effort can make a huge difference, Elkins Park School students raised $573.65 at last week’s bake sale, with the proceeds going toward Bahamian families impacted by the destruction of Hurricane Dorian through Chef José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen.
When disaster strikes, WCK’s Chef Relief Teammoves quickly to the front lines to provide meals to those in need. Deploying their model of quick action, leveraging local resources, and adapting in real time, WCK is able to respond to multiple disasters at once — often on opposite ends of the world. WCK has served more than 8 million meals through 23 deployments with over 44,000 volunteer shifts worked to survivors in the aftermath of natural and man-made disasters. Donate today>
