Talking Neuroscience at EP

Dr. Ayers speaking to the class(March 9, 2023) While reading Nic Stone’s novel “Clean Getaway” — a timely middle-grade road-trip story through landmarks of the Civil Rights movement and the map they lay for contemporary race relations — students in Cori Ayers fifth grade class had questions about a character who experiences seizures. Ms. Ayers invited her husband, Dr. Luke Ayers, associate professor and chair of the psychology department at Widener University and neuroscience expert, to talk to the class about the science of it all. Students did a fantastic job listening to the presentation, which was college level material, and had well thought out and deep questions after listening attentively.
