(February 24, 2023) Answering a question about Ralph Bunche receiving a Nobel Peace Prize in the ninth round of competition, sixth grader Marielle Miller won the inaugural Elkins Park African American History Bee Thursday night. Fifth graders Eunsoo Kim and Ava Henry finished second and third, respectively. Fifteen contestants participated, answering questions on a wide array of Black history, including categories on entertainment, sports, politics and local history.
