Cheltenham and Wyncote Elementary Compete in First Lego League Challenge

(January 23, 2023) Cheltenham Elementary and Wyncote Elementary participated in the Centennial FIRST Lego League qualifier robotics tournament on Saturday, Jan. 14 at Klinger Middle School.

Cheltenham Elementary Hour of Code

(January 4, 2023) Cheltenham Elementary students participated in activities to learn how to program computers as part of the school’s weeklong celebration of Hour of Code in December.

CSD Theater Projects to Be Performed at Philly Young Playwrights’ SaturPlay Showcase

(September 29, 2022) - Theater projects from Cheltenham and Myers Elementary Schools have been selected to be performed as part of the Philadelphia Young Playwrights SaturPlay showcase on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Fairmount Park’s Smith Playhouse. This year’s competition included more than 600 submissions from students in third through 12th grade.

CES Students Earn Accolades for Work with Philly Young Playwrights

(Sept. 19, 2022) With first-, second- and third-place commendations, Cheltenham Elementary School continues its tradition of creating winning plays as part of the annual Philadelphia Young Playwrights (PYP) festival. Students work all year learning about playwriting and submit their work in June for consideration. Winning plays are announced in September. CES teacher Gerald Aungst and PYP teaching artists BJ Tindal and Erik Reyes worked with this past year’s students.

CES Starts the Year Off with a Splash at its Kickoff PBIS Assembly

(September 13, 2022) Cheltenham Elementary held its PBIS kickoff assembly this morning with the second and third graders. The students learned about Cheltenham Elementary’s three Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) characteristics, “Caring, Exceptional, Safe” or C.E.S.

Cheltenham School District Foundation Awards Innovation Grants

(September 9, 2022) The Cheltenham School District Foundation awarded 23 grants totaling almost $25,000 to 28 Cheltenham educators at this year’s school-opening festivities.

Dr. Tracey Lank Joins CSD as Supervisor of Elementary Special Education

(August 31, 2022) With more than a decade of special education experience, Dr. Tracey Lank has been named the supervisor of elementary special education at the Cheltenham School District. The board of school directors approved Dr. Lank’s appointment at its June legislative meeting, and Dr. Lank joined the staff on August 1, 2022.
