EP Hosts Pet Supplies Donation Drive for ACCT Philly
(June 6, 2023) Elkins Park School collected various pet items to donate to the Animal Control and Care Team (ACCT) in Philly. Students and staff have gathered clean and gently used blankets, towels, sheets, pet toys, and food that will be donated to ACCT at the end of the month.

EP Sixth Graders Become Family Documentarians
Mary Aiken’s sixth grade challenge students created documentaries about their families entitled, "How Did I Get Here?" The documentaries included student conducted family interviews recounting their family origins and history. Each documentary was around five minutes long and fully filmed and produced by the students.

Arts Night at Elkins Park
(May 4, 2023) The arts in Cheltenham were on full display Wednesday night at Elkins Park’s inaugural Arts Night. Student artwork of various media was on display for parents/guardians to view, and the choir sang a handful of songs.

Three CSD Students Appear in Abbott Elementary Season Finale
(April 25, 2023) Three Cheltenham School District students were featured as extras in the season two finale of ABC’s “Abbott Elementary,” which aired on April 19.

Science Fair Projects, Community Groups Highlight EP’s STEM Night
(April 21, 2023) Featuring science fair tri-fold displays and a number of STEM-related community displays, Elkins Park hosted a STEM Night on Thursday. With almost 20 experiments ranging from gummy bear osmosis and which frozen liquid will melt the fastest, to which surface is the dirtiest and how to make clean water in an emergency, Elkins Park students impressed with their research and presentations.

EP Leadership Academy Hosts 10th Annual Tie Ceremony
(March 29, 2023) Twenty-two sixth graders participated in the 10th annual Elkins Park School Leadership Academy Program’s (LAP) high impact tie ceremony Tuesday afternoon in Kircher Hall with an audience of nearly 100 family, friends and community members.

EP's Leadership Academy Visits PHL
(March 15, 2023) Students in the Elkins Park Leadership Academy recently participated in the Philadelphia Airport’s Next Gen Empowerment Day. Students took a behind-the-scenes tour that most would not get to experience, and were exposed to various career paths.

Talking Neuroscience at EP
(March 9, 2023) While reading Nic Stone’s novel “Clean Getaway” — a timely middle-grade road-trip story through landmarks of the Civil Rights movement and the map they lay for contemporary race relations — students in Cori Ayers fifth grade class had questions about a character who experiences seizures. Ms. Ayers invited her husband, Dr. Luke Ayers, associate professor and chair of the psychology department at Widener University and neuroscience expert, to talk to the class about the science of it all.

Award-Winning Author Kelly Yang Visits Elkins Park School
(March 2, 2023) Award winning writer Kelly Yang, author of “New From Here,” the “Front Desk” series and more, spoke to EP students about her life experiences, the writing process, and discussed her newest book, “Finally Seen,” on Wednesday afternoon.

(February 24, 2023) Answering a question about Ralph Bunche receiving a Nobel Peace Prize in the ninth round of competition, sixth grader Marielle Miller won the inaugural Elkins Park African American History Bee Thursday night.

EP Presents Check for MLK Day Walk-a-thon to Laurel House
(February 6, 2023) Elkins Park Principal Dr. Crystal Clark and several students turned over a check for more than $1,400 to Laurel House from the funds raised from EP’s MLK Day of Service walk-a-thon.

(January 17, 2023) Almost 100 Elkins Park students on team 5B participated in a hackathon last week with an assist from a group of high school students.

MLK Day of Service Across CSD
Students from across the district will be participating in service projects on Monday, Jan. 16 as part of the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.

(September 29, 2022) With nearly a decade of teaching experience, Jaclyn DiGianivittorio has been named supervisor of special education for grades 5-6 and autistic support at Cheltenham School District.

State Representative Napoleon Nelson Celebrates Constitution Day with EP
(September 15, 2022) Elkins Park School fifth and sixth graders lined the hallways as PA State Representative Napoleon Nelson officiated the signing and hanging of 29 classroom constitutions, which were created for Constitution Day on September 17, 2022.

Cheltenham School District Foundation Awards Innovation Grants
(September 9, 2022) The Cheltenham School District Foundation awarded 23 grants totaling almost $25,000 to 28 Cheltenham educators at this year’s school-opening festivities.

Dr. Tracey Lank Joins CSD as Supervisor of Elementary Special Education
(August 31, 2022) With more than a decade of special education experience, Dr. Tracey Lank has been named the supervisor of elementary special education at the Cheltenham School District. The board of school directors approved Dr. Lank’s appointment at its June legislative meeting, and Dr. Lank joined the staff on August 1, 2022.

Dr. Crystal Clark Appointed Principal at Elkins Park School
(August 18, 2022) The Cheltenham School District’s longest-tenured administrator, Dr. Crystal Clark has been appointed the principal at Elkins Park School. Clark spent the previous 18 years as the principal at Wyncote Elementary, and succeeds Mr. Brian Wallace who left the district to pursue other educational opportunities.
