(March 15, 2023) Students in the Elkins Park Leadership Academy recently participated in the Philadelphia Airport’s Next Gen Empowerment Day. Students took a behind-the-scenes tour that most would not get to experience, and were exposed to various career paths.

Talking Neuroscience at EP
(March 9, 2023) While reading Nic Stone’s novel “Clean Getaway” — a timely middle-grade road-trip story through landmarks of the Civil Rights movement and the map they lay for contemporary race relations — students in Cori Ayers fifth grade class had questions about a character who experiences seizures. Ms. Ayers invited her husband, Dr. Luke Ayers, associate professor and chair of the psychology department at Widener University and neuroscience expert, to talk to the class about the science of it all.

Dr. Tracey Lank Joins CSD as Supervisor of Elementary Special Education
(August 31, 2022) With more than a decade of special education experience, Dr. Tracey Lank has been named the supervisor of elementary special education at the Cheltenham School District. The board of school directors approved Dr. Lank’s appointment at its June legislative meeting, and Dr. Lank joined the staff on August 1, 2022.

Dr. Crystal Clark Appointed Principal at Elkins Park School
(August 18, 2022) The Cheltenham School District’s longest-tenured administrator, Dr. Crystal Clark has been appointed the principal at Elkins Park School. Clark spent the previous 18 years as the principal at Wyncote Elementary, and succeeds Mr. Brian Wallace who left the district to pursue other educational opportunities.
