Legislation in Pennsylvania now requires community members and parents/guardians to obtain clearances in order to volunteer in our schools.
A volunteer is any individual in an unpaid position with a program, activity or service who is individually responsible for the welfare of one or more children or has direct contact with children (defined as: the possibility of care, supervision, guidance or control of children or routine interaction with children).
Clearance Requirements

- Volunteer Packet Checklist (cover page) and Affirmation Signoff Sheet
- Act 34 - Criminal Background Check
- Act 114 - Federal (FBI) Criminal History Report - required if you have NOT been a resident of PA for 10 or more consecutive years
- Act 151 - Child Abuse Clearance
- Tuberculosis Screening (with negative results or a clear chest X-ray)
