Robyn Murphy

ABOUT MS. MURPHY | SCHOOL BOARD DIRECTOR

Ms. Robyn Murphy is a literacy consultant, literacy coach and reading specialist, assisting teachers, leaders and school districts as they work to improve their reading outcomes. She has been a classroom teacher in New York City and Darby, Pa., an executive at Girl Scouts’ national headquarters in New York City, a reading specialist, and a literacy coach for the past two decades with for profit and nonprofit organizations.

Ms. Murphy is the CEO/President of Further Her Consulting Group, a women’s empowerment enterprise that includes life and relationship coaching and community service. In recent years, she has led conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion as the facilitator of a workplace people of color affinity group. She volunteers at her church, the Gift of Life, and Girl Scouts of Eastern PA. 

Ms. Murphy has dual undergraduate degrees from Hofstra University in psychology and elementary education and a master’s degree from the City University of New York’s Queens College in reading education. She resides in Elkins Park with her husband Kevin, with whom she enjoys leading marriage and premarital counseling.
