Glenside Parents at Work in Schools (PAWS) is an organization whose purposes are to promote a mutual understanding between home and school and to seek legislative and community action to foster superior education. We invite teachers, staff, administrators, and parents and guardians of students at Glenside Elementary School to join us as we advocate for our students’ interests and provide enrichment to the services and supports provided by the Cheltenham School District. Some of PAWS’ annual activities include:
- PTO-Sponsored Assemblies
- Bear Store
- Kindergarten Meet ‘N Greet Playdates and First-Day Kindergarten Coffee (for parents)
- Diversity Festival
- Fair of the Bear Spring Carnival
- Scholastic Book Fair, Book Swaps
- Fall and Winter Family Fun Nights
- MLK Day of Service
PAWS also provides supplemental funding for Glenside Elementary, including gifts of equipment and resources, supplemental funding for events such as the Author’s Visit, and start-up grants for teachers to enable them to purchase items for their classrooms. Get Involved
Glenside PAWS E-mail Signup: Our (mostly) weekly blast contains information about upcoming PAWS events both during and outside of school hours. Additionally, blasts often have online sign-ups that allow you to volunteer (or organize) PAWS events.
Check out the many ways you can give some of your time: Whether you have just one hour or a few, you can make a difference! Want to know more about a particular event? Simply ask! Feel free to email PAWS at info@GlensidePTO.com or fill out this form and a PAWS representative will follow up with you. Without volunteers and attendees, our events don’t happen, so sign up to do your part!
