6th and 7th Grade Timeline

  • [Feb. 7] Elkins Park School Auditorium 7:00 P.M.
    Transition meeting for parents/guardians. Parents/guardians will have the opportunity to meet the CBK administration and counselors and to learn about the 6-7 transition process as well as the academic and extracurricular programs at CBK. Parents/ guardians are encouraged, if at all possible, to attend this important meeting.

    [Feb. 13-23] Course / Level  Recommendations
    During this time, the 6th-grade teachers at EP will make recommendations for the current 6th-grade students.  

     [Feb. 26] Elkins Park School Auditorium: Time TBD

    Transition meeting for 6th-grade students.  Students will have the opportunity to meet the CBK administration and counselors and to learn about all that CBK has to offer.  This will be the students’ first introduction to the Wildcat Way as well as academic and extracurricular activities.

    [Feb. 26 - March 12] Parent Course Selection
    Course selection forms and Course Guide will be mailed to parents/guardians.  The forms will have the recommendations made by EP teachers.  The guide will provide an overview of the 7th-grade year as well as a description of the courses offered.  Parents/ guardians and students will review the form, choose a fifth major (World Language, Literary Workshop, Reading), and a music program.  These forms MUST be returned to the child’s homeroom teacher at EP no later than Friday, March 16.

    Elkins Park School Auditorium 7:00 P.M.
    Transition meeting # 2 for parents/ guardians. Parents/ guardians will meet the CBK PTO leadership and learn about the summer transition activities and the move into the new CBK.

    Move up Day for 6th Grade Students.

     

     

     

8th Grade Timeline

  • [Jan. 31] CHS Little Theater 7:00 P.M.
    Transition meeting for parents/guardians. Parents/ Guardians will have the opportunity to meet the CHS administration and counselors and to learn about the 8-9 transition process as well as the academic programs at CHS. There will be a general meeting in the Little Theater and then breakout sessions including Project Based Learning and Freshman Seminar. Parents/ guardians are encouraged if at all possible, to attend this important meeting.

    [Jan. 29]  CHS Little Theater: 8:30 AM - 10:00 A.M.
    Transition meeting for 8h grade students.  Students will have the opportunity to meet the CHS counselors and to learn about all that CHS has to offer. Students from CBK East will be bused from East to CHS for this program.

    [Feb. 2-9]  Presentations by CBK Counselors
    Cedarbrook counselors will conduct small group presentations for 8th-grade students. These presentations will further explain the course offerings and programs of study at CHS.

    [Feb. 5-12] Course Recommendations
    Cedarbrook 8th grade teachers will make course recommendations for rising 9th-grade students.  These recommendations will be made directly in PowerSchool. 

    [Feb. 12-19]  Course Registration
    Cedarbrook counselors will meet with rising 9th graders to choose electives. Following these meetings courses and course levels mailed to parents.

    [June 8]  Last Day to Make Changes
