Glenside Elementary School, located at 400 Harrison Avenue, reopened its doors to a brand new building in September 2011. Students at Glenside Elementary School have the opportunity to become involved in a wide variety of in-school and beyond school hour activities such as Science Explorers, Let Me Run, Girls on the Run, Reading Olympics and Chess Club. All students participate in Rainbow of Friends, a character education system based on the foundational philosophy of schoolwide respect and responsibility. Glenside initiatives include programs such as Philadelphia Young Playwrights, Future Problem Solving and No Place for Hate.
