Non-Public School Request for Transportation

Cheltenham School District requires families who have a child(ren) attending a non-district school whether they be private, parochial, or independent to complete the registration form and provide the required residency and student documents. Without the completed form, and accompanying documents, transportation services will not be provided to your child(ren). The form is required the first time requesting transportation, and if your child(ren) switches to a new non-public school, they will be required to complete the form again and provide updated residency documents. 

This form applies to students and families who reside within the district that attend a state-certified, non-profit, private school within 10 miles of the district's boundaries. If you are unsure if your school falls within the 10-mile boundary limit, please contact the transportation office.

Non-public students residing outside of the district boundaries are not permitted to ride district-operated vehicles. 

To guarantee busing for your child(ren)’s first week of school, everything must be successfully submitted and approved two weeks prior to your child(ren)’s first day of school. Anything submitted after could delay services up to 10-business working days.

Three (3) Required Residency & Student Documents:

  • 1a. Homeowner: Deed (full) OR 2025 real estate/school  property tax bill
  • 1b. Renter: Current, signed lease (full) - with landlord's contact information
  • 2. Current Utility Bill Statement (Electric, Water, Cell Phone, or Cable/Telephone)
  • 3. Valid Driver's License or state-issued photo identification (with the Cheltenham Township address)

**If the child is entering kindergarten, we require a copy of the birth certificate
