I began my career as a psycho-educational therapist in the Philadelphia School District, where I worked with Kindergarten through sixth grade students and their families to develop mental and behavioral health treatment plans as a way to remove students’ barriers to learning. After my time in the Philadelphia School District, I pursued a number of mental health positons in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Two of my most memorable experiences were when I worked as a mental health clinician where I provided outpatient counseling services as part of the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Princeton New Jersey and the second was when I was the Program Director for CHOP’s Adolescent Preventive and Primary Care program. Collectively, these experiences set the foundation for my work as a School Counselor. Upon receiving my certification in School Counseling, I was employed in both middle and high schools in the Philadelphia School District. Since the 2014 – 2015 school year, I have been fortunate to work as a High School Counselor here in Cheltenham. I believe my counseling experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, as well as in community mental health settings, has made me asset to our district’s holistic initiatives.
