Cheryl Boyd-Abner, 5th Grade School Counselor
Greetings! My name is Cheryl Boyd-Abner. I am the current fifth grade school counselor at Elkins Park School. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, and my master’s degree in school and mental health counseling from the University of Pennsylvania. I am a Pk-12 Pennsylvania state certified school counselor. I have 20 years of experience working with children and youth, 10 of those years as a school counselor. I grew up in Philadelphia, and I am the grateful mother of one lovely little girl. I entered into this field because I love helping people! My mission is to relate, inspire, encourage, assist, and breakdown stigmas related to mental health. A few fun facts about me: I have an identical twin sister who is an educator, I am a self taught chef, and I enjoy making my own natural soaps. I am looking forward to continuing my journey here with the Cheltenham School District and making connections with families.
