WISE, CES Students Collab on Egg Drop Experiment

The CHS Women in Science and Engineering Club (WISE) and Cheltenham Elementary‘s Room 4 kindergarten class continued its partnership for the third year in a row! Mrs. Baron’s Room 4 class took a short bus trip up to CHS where the WISE club members taught the concept of gravity, impact and cushion. The kindergartners, along with their “big kid” helpers, designed, engineered and tested their protective structures for an egg drop experiment. On behalf of Earth Day, the kindergartners and high schoolers used recycled materials (boxes, cotton balls, paper towel rolls, plastic bags and so much more) to engineer a structure to protect their egg from cracking from the impact when falling from a high distance.
